Digital Graphic Designer

Digital Graphic Designer (Pittsburgh, PA)

We are passionate about producing financial products that connect in meaningful ways. Who is we? ‘We’ is numo. We are a fintech incubator funded by PNC, though the day to day feels a lot more like an energetic startup than a traditional bank. We are looking for risk takers and scrappy makers to help us bring a variety of financial products to life.

But we’re happy to tell you more about our passions after we get to learn a bit about yours. We’re looking for a hardcore interaction design zealot, somebody who thrives on articulating the myriad of ways we could solve a simple problem for a complex human, and then working with a team to bring that concept to life. Strong visual chops are a must, as you’ll be leading the interaction and digital experience design for all the products we ship. A strong grasp of a human centered process is a must.

Responsibilities

  • You have a responsibility to push the boundaries of your craft as you design products and services here
  • Fuse the voice of the customer with the tools and capabilities emerging in the design world to shape innovative experiences
  • Ensure our prototypes and products are backed by world class design craft work
  • Challenge yourself and your team mates to get to the best quality thinking and design work
  • Willingness to solve challenges through rapid experimentation
  • Continuously communicate progress and challenges to product stakeholders
  • Be passionate about building, not just researching and defining, products and product features

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or masters degree in interaction design, human-factors, etc.
  • A compelling story of why you are a designer
  • Prior experience in VCs, startups, or consulting is great, but not necessary
  • Prior experience in banking with knowledge of banking operations and regulations is a plus
  • Strong product judgment, vision and focus

Skills

  • Making complex challenges feel satisfyingly simple
  • Ability to visualize the complex nature of a problem to spur discussion amongst stakeholders
  • The ability to get stuff done, and have a satisfying personal life outside of work
  • Skills at darts are a plus — the product team currently continues to fall to the operations team during our Friday team events
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a focus on execution

What numo offers

  • Competitive salary
  • Cool office space at Bakery Square
  • Opportunity to work on cool new technology
  • Great benefits

Who we are

We build innovative consumer and enterprise software in house by applying cutting edge approaches, technology, and data analysis techniques to financial service opportunities.  Through academic and corporate partnerships, we source our project ideas by understanding immediate business challenges at PNC. We work directly with staff inside the bank to build products that will create immediate value for PNC we architect products so that they can be spun off into standalone companies.
